URGENT LAST CALL to save Kootenay Watersheds from Logging

The PETITION of the undersigned, residents of British Columbia, states:

We consider water quality to be the PRIMARY value of domestic watersheds in the province. We feel that forest licensees have too much freedom to decide where and how to log in order to maximize profits, and are thus unable to ensure that water quality is the primary value. We are calling for a halt to logging and road building in domestic watersheds until the government can ensure that water quality IS treated as the primary value.

Your petitioners respectfully request that the Honorable Minister take such action as may be deemed appropriate.

Why is this important?

To have access to safe, QUALITY drinking water from our watersheds, for generations to come.

We feel that forest licensees have too much freedom to decide where and how to log in order to maximize profits. A monetary profit gained at the expense of fellow British Columbian's essential requirement for potable water is not the proper role of Government.
